What does JOY look like for you?

Often, in my sessions, I hear, “I want to feel joy again, I want to be happy.” Before kids, I ... not to say kids make you unjoyful, but the definition of joy or how you experience joy may have changed. And that is okay, so how do you start to become OK with it?

First, I think defining what joy means to you is essential. Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What does it look like?

  2. How do I experience it?

  3. Am I expecting to feel this pleasure and happiness always?

  4. What is realistic?

Then figure out ways you can start to experience joy. You might be surprised and realize that you do have joyful moments.
