Not Your Average Parenting Course!

Why is this not your average parenting course? Because we are not focusing on Discipline. The focus is on YOU and your social-emotional health. Don’t get me wrong; I am not anti-positive discipline courses. Hell, I even teach them. But for this course, the focus is on you, the caregiver. Practicing self-care techniques is as important to a family’s needs as it is to your own. Put it this way, practicing self-care allows the caregiver to remain more balanced, focused, and effective, which helps everyone involved.[1]

Resourceful Parenting has been adapted from the Mothers and Babies program, an evidence-based program for pregnant women and new parents to help manage stress and prevent postpartum depression.[2] The big difference is that RP is geared to parents with children older than one-year-old. Want to learn more? Watch the video and get a better understanding of the why? how? and what to look forward to.

RP gives you strategies for creating healthy behaviors, healthy thoughts, and positive social support. You will learn ways to manage life stress and improve your mood so:

• you can feel better and enjoy life more.

• you can teach your child how to manage life stress as they grow up.

• you can avoid mood problems such as depression.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish. Taking care of yourself, your emotional well-being will positively impact both you and your family for a long time to come. So invest in yourself and join one of the courses!
